Card making with Rinea

Hello all welcome back or if this is your first time here welcome, I’m so happy to have you here. Today I am going to be sharing an amazing new (to me) product Rinea foiled paper. If you haven’t heard of it yet let me introduce you. This is an amazing product, I’ve not seen anything quite like it before, it is  two layers of aluminium foil covering a thin sheet of paper. This gives you all the shine of foil without any hassle – it is as easy as using paper.

You can emboss and die cut the Rinea foiled paper but it also has a sturdiness to it meaning to can hold it’s shape. It comes in two textures and many different colours. The textured sheets are the same colour on both sides and the smooth pieces are gold on the back. As a guest designer for Rinea I am very excited to be able to offer a $25 giveaway – I’ll have a link to the giveaway at the end of this blog post – there are multiple ways to enter one of which is leaving a comment on this blog post. The giveaway is open internationally and the winner will be drawn on 24th April.

For my three projects today I wanted to share not only die cutting and embossing but also the wonderful ‘Ghost ink’ that helps to remove the colour from the foil to create a reverse stamping effect.

My first card uses die cutting to create a 3D flower, this simple card is completed with distress ink and a large sentiment stamp in black.

For card two I’ve used the same dies but this time using the ghost ink to remove the foil colour back to silver – doesn’t it add wonderful two tone detail to the foils.

Card three is more die cutting this time with 3D butterflys – the ability to curl the foil and have it hold it’s shape gives effortless dimension and movement on the card.

For my fourth card I’ve used an embossing folder to add texture to the foil making it look like a chocolate bar, possibly my next favourite thing after crafting!

  2. What beautiful cards! I’ve not used this material before. Thank you, also, for the generous giveaway!

  3. Very interesting video and I enjoyed the different techniques you can use with this paper. Would love to try it in near future. My favorite was the first card since I really liked how easily you can curl the paper.
