Welcome back to another Tuesday card making video this week featuring a venetian mask stamp from So Suzy Stamps. I decided to add some colour to the delicate stamp design and let the stamp be the main feature in this card. (To skip straight to the video click here.)
I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour card stock and distress inks. Once I’d painted some colour on to the paper and let it dry I was ready for some stamping. I stamped in versmark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Now for the magic part . . .
Using an ink blending tool I added dark ink to cover the entire piece of watercolour paper, the embossed stamp image resists the ink leaving behind the mask image and the bright colours under the embossing powder.
I really love this technique of using clear embossing powder to trap colour in a stamped design. You can use this technique with a stencil or a background stamp to create a cool background effect.
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks cards, be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss my next post =]
