Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today I am using a few of my crafty birthdays presents to make a card for a friend of mine. For those of you who follow me on social media you will know that I have recently been away for my birthday to a beautiful log cabin for a long weekend of relaxing in the hot tub and chilling out by the fire. It was a lovely weekend and I was spoilt with so many fun new crafty bits.
So on to the card, I am using the mini front and backs bunny and duck stamp set by Art Impressions. These stamps give you the face of a duck and a bunny and their corresponding backs. You can stamp these so that they peak out of or peer into a window on a card. I think they are so sweet.
I am also using Brusho crystal colour powders (awesome birthday gift front he sister) to create a water coloured background. If you haven’t yet seen these colours in action they are fantastic, I show how I have used them in the video below but there are many videos on YouTube showcasing these or similar products.
I’m no artist but Sandy Allnock has a few videos showing how she has used Brusho and Colourbursts. In fact she posted this amazing wolf image on to her Instagram recently.
Impressive right! Her videos are fantastic, she also uses Periscope which I have recently discovered. It’s a video sharing app that lets you stream live videos and people can watch and comment live, its very interactive and personal. The videos are totally live and deleted after 24hours so they are always very current. If you haven’t checked it out yet I suggest that you give it a try and If you would like to follow me just search “Crafty not Shifty”
So on to todays card! I’m actually going to share a sneak peak video on Periscope for this card so if you are reading this within 24h of it being puplished you should still be able to catch that video =]
As I mentioned I used Brusho for the background, Art Impressions Bunny and Duck front and backs stamp set and Tim Holtz Distress inks for colouring. I decorated the envelope using the Mama Elephant Balloon Letters stamps and a rainbow selection of distress inks with the bunny from the Mama Elephant Up and Away stamp set holding on to the balloon strings. Check out the video below (if you are an email subscriber click here) if you have any questions or comment please let me know.
Until next time …
