Gelatos Water colour & Resist technique

Well would you believe it is August already! The sun is shining, or at least trying to, the days are longer and summer is in the air. The craft world of course has responded with a whole host of summery goodness.

The ice cream and lolly ice (or ice lolly depending on where you live) theme is as big as ever, the latest Simon Says Stamp card kit’s have been full of sunshine and summer but alas not for much longer!

In the spirit of summer and in an attempt to hold on to it for as long as possible I’m going to use a new product to me, Faber-Castell Gelatos, I made this card using a resist technique and some ice cream stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Ice cream dream stamp set.

To watch the video just click below.

If you are looking to recreate this card and don’t have this stamp set there are many others you could use including:

– Simon Says Stamp – Ice cream dream stamp set
– My Favourite Things – You’re the sweetest stamp and die
– Reverse Confetti – Let’s chill stamp set
– Paper Smooches – Sugar Rush stamp set

I bought my Gelatos from Amazon in a set that also included the embossed paper i used for the background of the cards, you can find that here.

If you don’y have Gelatos you could use an ink blending technique and regular watercolour or any other colouring medium for the ice creams.

My card base measure 5″ by 7″ with my white emboss resist panel cut down to 4 by 6.

Thanks for joining me and I’ll catch you next time.
